"Twoisms"
It is amazing to watch Alex's two-year-old mind at work.
Yesterday, we were talking about what to name the baby. I was giving him suggestions, and he vetoed all of them. So I asked him, "Well, what do you want to name the baby? He said, "Tinkerbell!" His tone was so matter-of-fact that it is obvious he has no doubt in his mind that Tinkerbell is the perfect name for the baby. I don't know what we will do if the baby is a boy!
Then later, as Jay and I were getting ready to put him to bed, I was telling him how pretty soon the baby will be able hear him. He will be able to talk to the baby in my belly. He said, "Yeah, and the baby will be able to watch movies with me too!"
And then we asked if he was going to give his pippy (pacifier) to the baby. He said, "No. The baby will have her own pacifier. You can get it at Target!"

Baby Beynon Update!
I went for a Baby Beynon check-up today. I gained 5 pounds (yikes), but other than that things are looking good. The heartbeat was a strong 150 beats per minute. Dr. Akman said the baby was "rockin' and rollin'" in there. My first trimester screening for Downs Syndrome came back normal! I have a sonogram in 3 weeks on April 10th. Then we will know for sure if Alex is having a brother or a sister!

Practice Makes Perfect
It amazes me how excited Alex is about the baby. The other day we were in Old Navy. There was a woman pushing a baby girl in a stroller. I didn't say anything, just kept walking. He said, "Momma, a baby. We are going to have a baby gurl (girl) too." I said, "We are going to have a baby. You are right. We will have to wait and see if the baby is a girl or boy." Then yesterday he said, "Momma, your belly is going to get bigger and the baby will come out. And I hold it." Today Alex went over to play with Mason and Preslee. He found one of their many baby dolls. He decided all on his own to her feed the baby a bottle. Below is a short video showing him practicing to be a big brother. He is going to be a great one!

Happy Birthday, Grandma John
Today would have been my Grandma John's 77th birthday. I can't believe she has been gone for a year and a half. I still miss her every single day! I know she was smiling down from Heaven this morning as so many of her family members gathered in church today to remember her on her birthday. She will always be in our hearts.
I love you, Grandma.

Introducing Baby Beynon

Here are 2 pictures of the baby taken yesterday at 12 and 1/2 weeks. I don't know about you all, I am thinking girl! I am usually wrong about these things though! As you can see he or she does not have a bad side! This baby is downright beautiful if I must say so myself! Okay, maybe I am a little biased...

When Alex Grows Up

Famous Last Words
When I was pregnant with Alex things would happen that would scare or worry me, and I would say, "I can't wait until I am pregnant with the next baby. Then I will know what to expect." HA! This pregnancy could not be more different thus far. First of all, with Alex I was pretty nauseous. I couldn't walk Charlie because I would rather die than pick up poo. And walking by the boy's bathroom at Elmwood (where I taught at the time) was a fate even worse than death. This pregnancy, I can count on one hand the times I have gagged, and I haven't thrown up once. But I do feel so bloated that you could pop my belly with a pin and I would go flying around the room. I didn't have that feeling with Alex. I don't remember feeling this tired with Alex, maybe it was because I wasn't chasing after a two-year old twelve hours a day while trying to design a new home. And I didn't have to got to the hospital with Alex until I was 24 weeks and I thought my water had broken. It hadn't, I was just peeing my pants. This time I have had to go to Labor and Delivery twice already! The most recent was last night when my doctor sent me, because apparently my body has forgotten that my period should be on hiatus during pregnancy. The same thing happened a month ago. Luckily, everything is fine. I had a sonogram and saw Baby Beynon . He/she has grown so much in just two weeks. The baby was moving around like a wild person (GREAT!) and his/her heartbeat was strong. Thank GOD!
So with almost 12 weeks down and A LOT more to go, the two pregnancies could not be more different so far. We will see what happens along the rest of the journey. Keep praying for Baby Beynon - he/she is giving me a run for my money - already!
